About Library
Library of Institute caters the need of students; doctors as far as latest information about their respective subjects are concerned. GMERS Medical College library is fully geared to meet the needs of students, doctors. They can avail the excellent facilities rendered by this library regularly.
Library has several foreign & Indian journals as well as WHO publications are subscribed thus making it a very rich library in terms of referral and research resources. The library is under planning for using Bar Code Technology for Issue & Return of Books and Electro Magnetic Security System for anti-theft of books. The Internet Network Facility has been also providing by the library for accessing to e-journals/e-books in the library Available through "Virtual library" scheme of Govt. of Gujarat.
Layout & Floor Area:
Central Library is located in the new college building on the first floor, with an area of 2400 sq.mt. (Carpet area ) with all the requisites.

Library Rules
The Library shall remain open on all working days from 9 A.M. to 5.00 P.M.
Admission to the Library
1.All the staff members Teachers/Technicians of the Institute.
2.All the students of the institute.
Loan Privileges
1.The books will be issued for 7 days. The maximum number of books a borrower may borrow at the same time shall be as follows:
- i.Teaching / Acadamic staff - 1 book
- ii.Technical Staff - 2 books
2.All the students of the institute.
Action on overdue, loss or damage
1.If the books are not returned on due date, the matter will be communicated to Professor I/C Library for information.
2.If Text Books/ Monographs, etc. are lost by the borrowers, they will have to replace the same edition or the newer edition.
3.Please check that the book is not damaged before you borrow it. You may be asked to pay for book returned in a damaged condition.
General
- Every person who enters in the Library shall sign the visitors register at the gate.
- All personal belongings except purses and note books shall not be allowed to be carried with the readers beyond the issue counter.
- Library does not accept any responsibility for loss/damage to personal property left within the Library premises.
- The readers are requested to keep silence within the Library premises.
- Borrowers must satisfy themselves about the physical condition of the books before borrowing them.
- Books may be recalled as and when required.

Routine services include issue and return of books.
Computer Library (E Library) :
There are 25 Computers in the E library with the internet (Broad band) facility. There is Printer Facilities are available in the Library itself.

Book Bank
The GMERS Medical college Library is planning to start "Book Bank" that will serve the MBBS students and Interns. The Bank will issue on long term basis to the students.
